Christian Adoption Services requires that parents interested in adopting domestically through our agency meet the following criteria: - As Alberta adoption law states we cannot place a child for adoption outside the province, only adults who maintain their usual residence in Alberta may apply.
- CAS is unique in that we accommodate birth parents who want their baby raised in a Christian family. Domestic applicants must be able to sign our statement of faith and be actively involved in a Christian church.
- Applicants must be married couples who are unable to conceive, or have medical reasons why they should not conceive a child. Few babies are available; a birth parent is more likely to choose a married couple who are not likely to have a biological child or who have one biological child and are unable to conceive another.
Couples are interviewed and a home study is completed to decide their suitability for an open adoption. Couples must attend an information session, open adoption training, and two workshops.
